Vogelsang RotaCut Sewage Macerator
Vogelsang’s RotaCut Inline Macerator eliminates heavy solids that damage pumps, valves, and other equipment in wastewater treatment facilities. It reduces wipes, rags, plastics, and fibrous material into small confetti-sized particles rather than simply shredding them. Hard objects such as metal or stone drop into the built-in “rock trap” for removal before the grinder, prolonging the life of the grinding blade and removing the object from the line. The Vogelsang RotaCut Inline Grinder is an economical solution for sludge laden with rags, heavy solids, and other debris.

The RotaCut is placed in front of pumps and dewatering equipment that are vulnerable to damage by sludge containing hard solids, fragments, and debris commonly found in wastewater sludge. They are also ideal for sludge conditioning before dewatering equipment or digesters by creating a homogenized slurry.
Applications

The RotaCut comes in many sizes and is used in a variety of wastewater applications:
- Thickened Sludge
- Sludge Transfer
- Dewatering Equipment Feed
- Digester Feed and Digester Recirculation
- Septage and FOG Receiving
RotaCut Features
One of the best features of the RotaCut is its service-friendly design. Everything can be done in minutes without removing the connecting piping. Most models include a hinged cutting head that provides access to the cutting blades and the cutting screen. The cutting screen comes in various material options, patterns, and hole sizes. The screens are reversible to allow for a fresh cutting surface without buying a new screen.
Vogelsang has a range of specialized grinders and macerators ideally suited for the challenges associated with wipes, rags, and other debris at wastewater treatment facilities. In addition to the RotaCut grinder, Vogelsang also provides the XRipper twin-shaft grinder which uses two hardened steel monolithic ripper rotors to cut and shred debris in the sludge waste stream.
Auto Cut Control – Automatically maintains the proper tension between the blade and the cutting screen, ensuring a proper cutting operation, even as the blades wear.
AutoReverse – The rotating blade system automatically reverses if debris gets stuck in the screen. It automatically alternates from forward to reverse until the debris is pulverized and detached.
Self-Sharpening Blades – The RotaCut is designed to allow the cutting blades to keep their sharp edge through normal operation.
Easy Inline Maintenance – All models feature a quick-release door allowing access to the cutting head.

RotaCut Screens are Reversible – The cutting screens are reversible to allow for a fresh cutting surface without buying a new part. Typical routine services such as changing blades or flipping the reversible cutting screen can be accomplished quickly by the operator.
Adaptable to Your Operation – The RotaCut is available in several models and sizes with a selection of cutting screen patterns to meet the project requirements.
