Sales Engineer - Technical Sales Representative

Envirep is a distributor of municipal and industrial water and wastewater equipment serving the Mid-Atlantic Region. We are looking for a Sales Engineer to support our equipment sales and service team. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer to use their knowledge and experience in water and wastewater equipment applications. Our ideal candidate remains calm under pressure, has excellent communication skills and is deadline driven.

Responsibilities

  • Identifying potential customers and developing a sales plan to target them
  • Conducting market research to understand customer needs and industry trends
  • Meeting with customers to understand their technical requirements and explain the features and benefits of products or services
  • Providing technical support and assistance to customers throughout the sales process
  • Developing and delivering product demonstrations, presentations, and proposals
  • Negotiating prices and terms of sales agreements with customers
  • Managing and updating customer accounts and sales records in a CRM system
  • Collaborating with product development teams to provide customer feedback and improve products or services
  • Attending industry conferences, trade shows, and other events to network and promote products or services
  • Continuously learning about new products and industry developments to stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies.

Requirements

As a Sales Engineer, you must be professional, pleasant and possess the ability to function equally well in a team environment and independently. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication, along with the ability to interact effectively with both customers and coworkers.

Specific Qualifications Include

  • Water and/or wastewater treatment experience
  • Working knowledge of water and wastewater treatment systems
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or other technical field
  • 3+ years of successful technical sales, engineering, or field sales support experience
  • Ability to learn and understand the technical details of product lines and explain them to customers
  • Ability to present products to consulting engineers and end users to get products specified as the basis of design
  • Ability to prepare and present PowerPoint presentations to assist in the sales of products
  • Understanding of municipal sales and various bid formats
  • Ability to understand plans and specifications to identify opportunities for our products
  • Ability to understand engineering concepts and design
  • Team-oriented, with the ability to function within a well-organized and detail-oriented team
  • Demonstrated experience developing strong relationships with current and prospective customers
  • Ability to provide technical support to customers
  • High computer application literacy including Microsoft Office Programs
  • History of working in a field that requires autonomy and self-motivation
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Prior experience that demonstrates a strong work ethic and ability to multi-task
  • Proven track record of problem solving with customer focus
  • Less than 10% overnight travel required to support sales territory
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record
