Make Informed Decisions: Reliable Flow Data from OmniSite Crystal Ball

To effectively manage collection systems, prevent sanitary sewer overflows (SSOs), and ensure regulatory compliance, precise flow data is indispensable. Historically, utilities spent significant time and resources on in-person pump station inspections to record flow. Today, OmniSite Crystal Ball pump station monitoring systems revolutionize this process. These cost-effective, contemporary solutions autonomously capture and transmit vital flow rates and operational data to your personnel. With OmniSite monitoring units, operators gain reliable, accurate flow data, enabling smarter decisions and significantly reducing the need for frequent site visits.
OmniSite provides accurate and reliable flow data by one or both of the following methods:
Volumetric Flow Readings
The OmniSite system provides influent flow and pumped flow data using smart volumetric calculations, all uploaded to your GuardDog website. This means you can get crucial flow insights without investing in costly traditional flow meters.
OmniSite’s volumetric flow readings are typically very accurate. However, their precision can be affected in certain scenarios:

- When inflow rates surpass the capacity of one pump.
- During sudden changes in wet well inflow, such as from an upstream pump station.
- With pumps operating on variable speed drives (VFDs).
- If RVSS “soft start” motor starters have extended ramp-up or down cycles.
Given these considerations, OmniSite volumetric flow calculations are ideal for monitoring pump health and performance. For applications demanding highly accurate flow metering or billing, we recommend considering alternative methods.
Flow Meter Readings
The OmniSite records flow data from flow meters and uploads the data to the GuardDog website. Flow data from flow meters is collected and transmitted via cellular technology and viewed on the OmniSite GuardDog website or smartphone. The website organizes the flow data from the flow meters in charts and graphs and allows the operators to review the data to identify any issues at a site. If there is an anomaly, operations personnel are dispatched to inspect the site and equipment.
Save Time and Money
OmniSite cloud-based cellular monitoring systems save time and money utility managers valuable operating data and providing alarm notifications for operations personnel.
OmniSite cloud-based monitoring systems are the most effective way to monitor pumping stations, improve system efficiency, and reduce O&M costs.
